HRH has found a (soul)mate
well, we continue to be amazed about the little spotted one over here.
After much looking and searching her definate choice seems to have fallen on a "real man".
One look on Acke, our red burmese stud, 2 weeks after he was neutered and they have been a couple since.
they eat together, they sleep together, they walk together.
And whenever he dares venture in another direction, she hurries after him and persuades him to go with her with much "mieuws and priets" and slapping of tail in face, after which he sits down to wash HRH's ears..."again".
they are a very very cute couple, and to my amazement this made Acke's transition as an ex-stud back within our group, withouth any problems. (offcourse, he is the prince-consort now, in a way:))

Re: HRH has found a (soul)mate
she is almost 8 months old now and weighing in at 2,6 kilo's. (which i find a bit on the light side, but then again i am used to my burly burmese in that regard.
How much do most Mau's weigh at that age?
what are you feeding your spotted ones mostly on?
here they get catlovers gold dry kibble, additioned with some raw comercial barf about once-twice a week or with a good brand of canned.

Re: HRH has found a (soul)mate
Hello Stef,
our female cats at AIME at 8 months are around 3.500kg on average!
this said, do not forget that UK practises a lot of in-breeding which does explain why their cats are quite a lot smaller than ours.
The AIME has had import of new bloodlines from Maus from Egypt and follow a very strict bloodline control (DNA testing etc), the aim being to protect the breed as it was first and foremost
Again at AIME most of us will use High quality dry food from the vet or pate again of the highest quality, a few of us might use some home made food doubled with dry food but this is rare
officially I cannot put brand names on a forum but let us say that as a norme, we do not use super market produce!
hoping this will answer your querries
please do not forget to send us picture of HRH
